The dataset contains sales data from a chaat shop in Chennai for the months of February, March, and April. The shop operates from 10 AM to 1 AM the next day in certain locations.
Let's analyze the data to gain insights into sales by store, items, and other combinations. We will also evaluate the effectiveness of keeping the shop open until 1 AM and explore potential opportunities to close earlier based on sales data.

Key Analysis Points:

  1. Sales by Store: Analyze total sales and performance by each store location.
  2. Sales by Item: Identify the most popular items and their contribution to total sales.
  3. Sales by Time: Evaluate sales during different time periods, especially late-night sales (after 10 PM).
  4. Operational Efficiency: Assess the cost-effectiveness of operating until 1 AM.
Let's start by analyzing the sales distribution by store and item.
The bar chart above shows the total sales by store. Each bar represents a store location, and the height of the bar indicates the total sales for that store.
Next, let's analyze the sales by item to identify the most popular items and their contribution to total sales.

As i asked, give me points insights to open the shop till 1am

To analyze the effectiveness of keeping the shop open until 1 AM, we need to focus on sales during late-night hours. Let's break down the analysis into key points:

Key Insights for Operating Until 1 AM:

  1. Sales Distribution by Time:
    • Analyze the sales data to see how much revenue is generated during late-night hours (e.g., 10 PM to 1 AM).
    • Compare this with sales during regular hours to understand the contribution of late-night sales to total revenue.
  2. Customer Footfall:
    • Evaluate the number of transactions or orders placed during late-night hours.
    • Determine if there is a significant drop in customer footfall after a certain time.
  3. Cost Analysis:
    • Consider the additional costs associated with operating late, such as staff wages, utilities, and other operational expenses.
    • Compare these costs with the revenue generated during late-night hours to assess profitability.
  4. Item Popularity:
    • Identify which items are most popular during late-night hours.
    • Determine if certain items drive more sales during these hours.
  5. Location-Specific Insights:
    • Analyze if certain locations perform better during late-night hours compared to others.
    • Consider closing earlier in locations with consistently low late-night sales.
  6. Customer Feedback:
    • Gather customer feedback to understand the demand for late-night operations.
    • Consider customer preferences and satisfaction levels.
Let's proceed with the analysis of sales distribution by time to gather these insights.
The bar chart above illustrates the total sales by hour throughout the day. This visualization helps us understand the distribution of sales during different hours, including late-night hours (10 PM to 1 AM).

Insights:

  • Peak Sales Hours: Identify the hours with the highest sales to determine peak operating times.
  • Late-Night Sales: Evaluate the sales during late-night hours (10 PM to 1 AM) to assess their contribution to overall revenue.
  • Operational Decision: If late-night sales are significantly lower compared to peak hours, it may be worth considering closing earlier to save on operational costs.
Would you like to explore any specific aspect of the data further, such as sales by item during late-night hours or customer footfall analysis?**

What are the most popular items sold during late-night hours?

The bar chart above shows the top 10 most popular items sold during late-night hours (10 PM to 1 AM). Each bar represents an item, and the height of the bar indicates the total sales for that item during these hours.

Insights:

  • Popular Items: Identify which items are driving sales during late-night hours.
  • Menu Optimization: Consider focusing on these popular items to optimize the menu for late-night operations.
